‘One Cake and Ten Candles’, the title of our fifth annual show underlines the mood of celebration. Ten years before when we opened the doors of Gallery Ragini for the art loving public, Indian art market itself was in a celebratory mode. The market for Indian contemporary art was booming in the years that followed and the artists and other art players were reaping the benefits of it. Soon the market nosedived into a recession mode due to the global melt down in late 2008.

The Gallery has been doing exhibitions regularly , giving solo shows to the gallery artists and also presenting well curated group shows. Gallery Ragini also has been presenting solo and group exhibitions at the illustrious India Art Fair for the last four years.

Despite the dark economic clouds looming large, Gallery Ragini sees silver lines at the edges of those clouds. In the annual shows of Gallery Ragini, it has been exhibiting the works of the gallery artists along with the established and upcoming artists carefully suggested and selected by a panel of experts. Gallery Ragini is proud to say that each year, it adds a couple of artists to its family by exclusively promoting newly found talents from its shows. ‘One Cake and Ten Candles’ is a celebration of such positive attitude of the gallery and also this positive thinking is percolated amongst the devoted clients and artists of the gallery.
