Arty Acoustic©

is a talk show presented by Gallery Ragini, New Delhi. The basic idea of the talk is to gradually bring contemporary artist before an enthusiastic audience comprising of artists, art lovers, collectors, gallerists, critics and friends through a self presentation of his/her works in a slide show.
The artist would explain his/her work and then would face the questions thrown at him by a panel of two senior art critics and subsequently by the audience. This would be a monthly feature on the last Friday of every month followed by wine and cheese.

The whole discussion, including the participation of the audience should be done on a friendly basis. The question could be provoking in order to tease the artist to come out with his best explanations. The proceedings of the day would be videotaped and recorded so that it would be published in DVD format at a later stage. This would be an adequate document of a particular artist and his works.

If need be and if the artist willing, few original works of the artist could be presented on the wall of the venue.

Why Arty Acoustic?

Before the advent of art market, artists and friends used to spend a lot of time discussing their works.
Market came and things changed. Artists became more and more busy and the art openings became occasions for socializing than seriously discussing works of art. Now we have a break as the market is going through a lull phase. Hence, Arty Acoustic is an effort to touch base, to go to the good old days of friendly discussion. Above all, the artists get a chance to talk about their works and the audience gets a chance to know the artist first hand.
