Indian Art Fair 2025

As Gallery Ragini hits the onset of our 20th year, our show Kulture rep- resents our ethos built over the past two decades of being in the dynamic contemporary art world in India. Kulture showcases not only the contem– porary practices of indigenous art in India, but also speaks the stories of the artists, the people and the languages behind them.

The Contemporary practices of indigenous and traditional art showcase the evolution of craft as it changed with the times and the stories that modern India portrays. In its true essence, they display the ever-changing aspects of our culture.

The artists in our show have a tale to tell, each individual, unique and rooted in both their indigenous and contemporary identities. In his latest series, Prakash Chandra, paints his new vision for the art of Pattachitra, developing a personal bond with his work, away from conventionality.

Our long-standing artist Dhavat Singh contributes his story in a mono- chromatic and individual style, showcasing his tribal folklore and aesthet– ic, mixed with the nub of Modern India.

We also introduce more sculpture work with our show, having both Wooden and Metal mediums with techniques that date back centuries. P Swamy shows his masterful skill over Wooden Sculptor with his series of statement and intricate pieces.

A K Jha also follows his individualistic approach to the traditional Mithila Style of Madhubani painting in an array of vertical and horizontal works. His stories, although always coming from tradition, mythical stories and folklore, mix with his distinct aesthetic to show a newness to the artform of Madhubani.

The essence of these artists remain deeply rooted in tradition and indig– enouspractices, but the depiction in their art speaks the language of the India of today. They continue to bring forth and revive the values and practices of the past, doing a great service to the community of Indige– nous arts. As they say, do it for the people, do it for the culture.
